We know only too well how difficult it is to buy a house in Portugal - we went through the process a few years ago. If you come from the USA then you might be used to 'buying' agents - there are a few scattered around the big cities but it is not common place. How it works here is that you might see three houses you like, but you have to contact three different agents and line up visits yourself. And as with all things in life, there is the good, the bad and the ugly.
We would plan our trips to Portugal, then waste half the time we were here trying to make contact with an agent to view a property...Grrrr! And then, when we finally got to view, the houses would be disappointing because the pictures only told a small part of the story - more time wasted.
Of course, you could guarantee the minute we got back to the U.K the property 'of our dreams' would appear and with work and other commitments, we couldn't just jump on a plane on a whim.
That is where we come in - we contact the agents and 'view' the property on your behalf with the same care and attention as if it was for ourselves.
What do we provide you with?
We provide you with a full report of the location, the property, along with video, drone and pictures to help you make an informed decision.
We will notice and comment on all the things you would do in person such as:
Barking dogs
General feel of the neighbourhood
Smells (yes!)
Property condition (visible to the eye)
Neighbours
Access
Distance to shops
Anything else we would pick up on as buyers
Of course we need to add a disclaimer that we are not structural engineers and therefore cannot comment as such - but if we see a big crack in the wall - we will report it!
This service allows you to then make an informed choice as to whether you then want to plan a visit.
See our map for the areas we cover (although we will go further subject to discussion) and costs range from £250 - £350 plus expenses.
